RPSC 2026 Exam Calendar Out: Key Dates for Deputy Commandant, Lecturer & More
RPSC 2026 Exam Schedule Released with Key Dates

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) in Ajmer has taken a significant step forward by unveiling its comprehensive examination calendar for the 2026 recruitment cycle. This early announcement is designed to provide ample preparation time for thousands of aspirants eyeing various government posts in the state.

RPSC 2026 Calendar: A Strategic Early Release

In a move welcomed by candidates, the Commission has published the tentative schedule well in advance. RPSC Chairman Utkal Ranjan Sahu emphasized that this proactive approach is specifically intended to give candidates sufficient lead time to prepare thoroughly. The examination schedule spans the entire year, commencing in January 2026 and running through the last week of December.

The calendar encompasses a wide array of positions across multiple state departments. Aspirants should mark their calendars for exams for posts such as Deputy Commandant, various Lecturer roles, and several Assistant Director positions. The recruiting departments are diverse, including Home, AYUSH, Energy, and Public Health Engineering, among others.

Key Examination Dates and Technological Shift

The recruitment drive will kick off in the first month of the new year. The first RPSC examination for 2026 is scheduled for January 11, for the post of Deputy Commandant in the Home Department. This will be closely followed by the Lecturer (Ayurveda Department) exam on January 12.

In a major shift aimed at enhancing integrity, the Commission has reintroduced technology into the examination process after a gap of nearly six years. All examinations will be conducted in online (computer-based) mode. This decision, as per the official release, is to prevent issues like paper leaks and irregularities, thereby ensuring greater transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.

Here are some of the crucial dates announced in the calendar:

  • Lecturer (Ayurveda Department): January 12, 2026 – Fully Online.
  • Assistant Electrical Inspector: February 1, 2026 – Computer-Based Test.
  • Sub-Inspector & Platoon Commander (Home Department): April 5, 2026.
  • School Lecturer & Coach (School Education Department): May 31 – June 16, 2026.
  • Senior Teacher (Secondary Education Department): July 12 – 18, 2026.

New Features: Reserve Dates and Streamlined Process

The 2026 calendar introduces several innovative features for better planning and contingency management. For the first time, the Commission has designated specific reserve dates: April 26, May 3, November 29, December 6, and December 27. These slots will be utilized if the state government announces major new recruitments (like RAS or REET) or if any scheduled exam needs to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances such as internet disruptions or local emergencies.

Furthermore, Chairman Sahu stated that a minimum gap of two to three months will be maintained between successive examinations. This policy is explicitly designed to allow candidates adequate time for focused preparation and revision for each test.

Another significant procedural update is the mandatory One-Time Registration (OTR) for all candidates. This system is expected to streamline the entire application process by eliminating the need to fill out repetitive forms for different exams. It also aims to enhance the security and management of candidates' personal data.

With the schedule now in the public domain, aspirants are advised to begin their preparations in earnest and regularly check the official RPSC website for any updates or detailed notifications for the respective posts.
