UPPSC 2026 Exam Calendar: 81-Day Schedule, Key Dates Announced

UPPSC Unveils Comprehensive 2026 Examination Calendar with Enhanced Schedule

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially released its annual examination calendar for the year 2026, detailing the timeline for major competitive recruitment examinations across the state. This year's calendar marks a significant expansion compared to previous editions, encompassing examinations scheduled over an extensive period of 81 days, with an additional 24 days kept in reserve to accommodate any potential adjustments or unforeseen circumstances.

Key Examination Dates and Schedule Highlights

According to the newly published calendar, the examination cycle for 2026 will commence with the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) Main Examination 2023, which is scheduled to take place on February 2 and 3. Following this, the Computer Assistant (UPPSC) examination 2025 is set for February 6, while the Architecture and Planning Assistant (mains) 2024 is proposed for February 24.

In March, several important examinations are lined up. The Staff Nurse Unani (male/female) preliminary exam 2025 is scheduled for March 17, with its main examination proposed on June 17. The Assistant Prosecution Officer (Pre) 2025 will be held on March 22, and its Main examination is slated for June 28, 29, and 30.

Moving into April, the Assistant Teacher Trained Graduate (LT Grade) 2025 computer subject preliminary exam is proposed for April 5. The Uttar Pradesh Technical Education (Teaching) Service Examination 2025 for the post of Principal is scheduled for April 9.

One of the most anticipated examinations, the PCS 2025 Main Examination, is scheduled to begin on March 29 and will span four days. Meanwhile, the PCS 2026 Preliminary Examination is tentatively fixed for December 6.

Significant Reforms in Assistant Professor Recruitment Process

In a major development, UPPSC has announced the long-awaited examination dates for the Assistant Professor Recruitment preliminary examination 2025, which will be held on May 31. This recruitment process introduces a significant reform: for the first time, it will include both preliminary and main examinations.

Previously, selections for Assistant Professor positions were conducted through a screening test followed by interviews, with final merit largely determined by interview scores. This system had drawn criticism and allegations of bias in the past. The introduction of a main examination is expected to strengthen merit-based assessment and enhance transparency in the recruitment process, addressing longstanding concerns among aspirants and stakeholders.

Additional Important Announcements

The commission has also scheduled the third phase of the Additional Private Secretary (APS) recruitment 2023 examination for June 7. However, the calendar does not clearly specify the status of the Block Education Officer recruitment examination, leaving aspirants awaiting further clarification from the commission.

It is important to note that all announced dates are tentative and may be revised depending on administrative or logistical circumstances. The commission has advised aspirants to regularly follow the official website of UPPSC for further details, updates, and any changes to the schedule.

This comprehensive calendar reflects UPPSC's efforts to streamline and organize the competitive examination process across Uttar Pradesh, providing clarity and structure for thousands of aspirants preparing for various government positions in the state.
