The University of Delhi (DU) has released the third allocation list for postgraduate programmes, offering 1,765 fresh seats, as undergraduate applications cross the 1.9 lakh mark. The announcement, made on Friday, also covers updates for BTech and integrated law admissions.
Third Postgraduate Allocation List Details
In the third round of postgraduate allocations, DU has made 1,765 new offers. This includes 1,551 seats in regular two-year programmes and 214 seats in performance-based courses such as MFA, BPEd, MPEd, and Music. Candidates who receive allotments must complete the acceptance process by 11:59 pm on Saturday.
So far, 5,848 candidates have chosen to 'freeze' their allotted seats, indicating satisfaction with their current allocation. The university stated, "The third list along with allocations to performance-based programmes such as MFA, BPEd, MPEd and Music is live as per schedule."
Growing Interest in One-Year Master's Programmes
DU's newly introduced one-year postgraduate programmes, designed for students who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree under the UGCF 2022 framework based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, have attracted 8,823 registrations so far. The university noted, "The one-year postgraduate programme is being offered to students who have completed a four-year undergraduate programme under the UGCF 2022 (based on NEP-2020) from the University of Delhi."
Undergraduate Admissions Surge
Undergraduate admissions have entered a crucial phase, with the university receiving 1,90,645 applications. Of these, 1,64,098 candidates have completed Phase II of the admission process. Students can submit or modify their programme and college preferences until 11:59 pm on July 11.
BTech and Integrated Law Updates
The second allocation list for BTech admissions has already been released. Meanwhile, the first spot admission round for the five-year integrated law programme is underway, with only 18 vacant seats available. These seats are being offered strictly on the basis of merit, the university confirmed.
