Patna: Governor-cum-chancellor Ata Hasnain on Monday directed the vice-chancellor of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) to make necessary arrangements for introducing job-oriented foreign language courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students, citing their growing demand and employment potential. He also instructed the university to ensure timely completion of all academic courses in the interest of students.
Review of University Activities
Reviewing the academic, financial, and administrative activities of the university at Lok Bhawan here, the chancellor noted that there is an increasing demand for foreign languages such as French, German, and Spanish in both national and international job markets. He emphasized that well-structured courses in these languages should be introduced in the university to enhance students' career prospects.
Encouraging Army Service
Hasnain also stated that university students, including girls, should be encouraged to serve as officers in the Indian Army after completing their studies. This, he said, would contribute to nation-building and provide students with a prestigious career option.
Implementation of Samarth Portal
The chancellor appreciated the university’s implementation of the Samarth portal, noting that LNMU had already implemented 10 essential modules of the portal. The Samarth portal is a government initiative aimed at streamlining academic and administrative processes in higher education institutions.
The review meeting was attended by the governor’s principal secretary Deepak Kumar Singh, LNMU vice-chancellor Sanjay Kumar Chouhary, and higher education director N K Arawal.
