In a significant move to broaden access to specialized technical education, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched an innovative aerospace program that eliminates the traditional JEE examination requirement. The program opens doors for students who have completed Class 12 or hold diplomas, providing an alternative pathway to quality aerospace education without the barrier of IIT JEE scores. Following the principles outlined in the National Education Policy, the program offers multiple exit options, allowing participants to earn a foundation certificate, diploma, or full bachelor's degree in science based on their progression and goals.
The flexible learning model is designed to accommodate diverse student backgrounds, including working professionals and those with varying educational commitments. Classes are structured around recorded lectures, live tutorial sessions, and interactive discussion forums, with examinations conveniently scheduled on Sundays to minimize disruption to other responsibilities.
