NPCL's Project Samarth Fuels Aspirations of Meritorious Students

In a heartening display of corporate social responsibility, Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) is transforming the lives of talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through its flagship initiative, Project Samarth. This program is specifically designed to provide crucial financial and mentorship support to help young achievers reach their full potential.

Inspiring Stories of Determination and Support

Riya, a resident of Greater Noida, dreams of becoming an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Coming from a farming family with a modest monthly income, she has demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, securing 88% in Class 10 and 90% in Class 12. Currently pursuing a BA in Economics at Gautam Buddha University, Riya previously faced challenges in accessing quality coaching and guidance essential for her civil services preparation.

Similarly, Prashant from Bilaspur village in Greater Noida has set his sights on a career in engineering. With impressive scores of 92% in Class 10 and 85% in Class 12, he has gained admission to a BTech program. Like Riya, financial constraints once cast a shadow over his educational journey, creating uncertainty about how he would sustain his studies.

Today, both students have found a powerful ally in NPCL's Project Samarth, which is helping to turn their aspirations into achievable goals.

Substantial Financial Assistance and Ongoing Support

Under this comprehensive CSR initiative, NPCL has selected 10 meritorious students from within its licensed operational area to receive significant financial support. Each student has been granted a scholarship of Rs 50,000 to cover tuition fees and coaching expenses.

The selection process for this Higher Education Scholarship Program was conducted in partnership with the respected NGO Buddy4Study India Foundation, ensuring a fair and transparent evaluation of candidates based on academic merit and financial need.

What makes this initiative particularly impactful is its long-term commitment. The financial assistance is not a one-time grant but will be renewed annually based on the students' continued academic performance. This support will continue throughout the duration of their respective courses, providing sustained stability as they pursue their degrees.

Corporate Commitment to Community Empowerment

Manoj Jha, spokesperson for Noida Power Company Limited, emphasized the transformative potential of Project Samarth. "This initiative by NPCL will not only ease the financial burden of meritorious students but will also strengthen their confidence and guide them toward achieving their dreams," he stated.

The program specifically targets students from rural areas and economically weaker sections, addressing a critical gap in educational accessibility. By investing in these young minds, NPCL is contributing to broader social development while nurturing future leaders and professionals who might otherwise have faced insurmountable barriers.

Project Samarth represents a meaningful model of how corporations can actively participate in building a more equitable educational landscape, where talent and determination are supported regardless of economic circumstances.
