Rouble Nagi began her remarkable work approximately ten years ago in the slums of Mumbai, developing a unique pedagogy centered around art. Tired of seeing children who seldom made it to traditional classrooms, she turned neglected walls in slums into vibrant murals, creating open-air classrooms that impart lessons in language, science, mathematics, and history. Through her Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, she has established over 800 learning centers across India, reaching children who have never attended school as well as those struggling to keep pace in formal education systems.
