In a significant push for digital education, the Ministry of Education has equipped government schools in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district with modern computer technology. This initiative is part of the broader Vidyanjali programme, which focuses on community participation to improve educational infrastructure.
Digital Infrastructure Reaches Baghpat Classrooms
On Saturday, the Ministry, through the National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI), delivered a consignment of 75 high-quality refurbished computers. This valuable resource was distributed across 15 government schools located in various blocks of the district, including Pilana, Khekra, Chhaproli, Binoly, Baraut, and Baghpat itself.
This contribution was formalized under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) module of the Vidyanjali portal. NICSI registered on the platform and adopted a project specifically titled 'Digital Infrastructure Development in Schools' for the Baghpat district.
Aligning with National Educational Goals
The Vidyanjali initiative is a flagship programme of the Department of School Education and is strategically aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It also embodies the core principle of Jan Bhagidari, or people's participation, by creating a bridge between volunteers, CSR partners, and schools.
Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, highlighted the massive scale of the Vidyanjali platform. He stated that the portal has onboarded over 8.33 lakh schools, more than 5.55 lakh individual volunteers, and in excess of 2,300 CSR and NGO groups. This collective effort has already benefited approximately 1.8 crore students across India.
A Boost for E-Learning and Digital India
The introduction of these computers is expected to have a transformative impact in Baghpat. The move will:
- Enhance digital access for both students and teachers.
- Promote e-learning methodologies and digital literacy.
- Empower educators to integrate technology directly into classroom teaching.
This development is a concrete step towards supporting the dual objectives of the Digital India campaign and the implementation of NEP 2020 at the grassroots level in western Uttar Pradesh.
