Ahmedabad Teen with Disability Writes Class 10 Exams Using His Feet, Inspires Many

In a heartwarming display of resilience and determination, Nitin Kumar Paswan, a 15-year-old student from Ahmedabad, is taking the Class 10 board exams by writing with his foot, despite having a 60% disability that prevents him from using his hands. Born with this condition, Nitin hails from Khokhra and has chosen to forgo the writer assistance he is eligible for under examination rules, instead relying on a skill he has honed over years of practice.

Mastering a Unique Skill from Childhood

Nitin, who attends Rashtrabharati Hindi High School, began practicing writing with his feet in early childhood out of necessity. What started as a challenge gradually transformed into a strength through daily practice at home. He has developed not only neat handwriting but also the speed required to complete exam papers within the allotted time. Remarkably, from Class 1 to the present day, Nitin has taken every exam without any external assistance, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to independence.

Overcoming Educational and Financial Hurdles

Securing admission to school was a significant obstacle for Nitin. Several private schools initially denied him entry due to his disability, forcing him to continue learning at home. However, a local municipal schoolteacher intervened, helping him gain admission to a municipal school where he studied from Classes 1 to 8. He later enrolled at Rashtrabharati School for Classes 9 and 10. Despite financial challenges, with his father, Shrikkrishna Paswan, working at a brick kiln and his mother making incense sticks to support the family, Nitin's parents have consistently encouraged his education and self-reliance.

Aspirations and Future Goals

Nitin believes that writing the exams himself will enhance his performance, and he aspires to pursue a career with the railways. His story serves as a powerful inspiration, highlighting the importance of perseverance and the human spirit in overcoming adversity.
