The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the results for the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 on Monday, revealing a significant milestone for aspiring educators in the state. The overall pass percentage stood at an impressive nearly 58%, marking a successful outcome for a majority of the candidates who appeared.
Key Statistics and Gender-Wise Performance
BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor detailed the results, stating that a total of 4.42 lakh candidates had appeared for the examination, which was conducted between October 14 and November 16. Out of these, 2.56 lakh candidates successfully cleared the eligibility test.
A striking feature of the results was the outstanding performance of women candidates. The data shows that 1.04 lakh women teachers qualified, significantly outnumbering their male counterparts, of whom only 52,000 were declared successful. This trend highlights a growing participation and success rate of women in the state's teaching recruitment process.
Paper-I and Paper-II Pass Percentages
The STET examination is conducted in two papers for different teaching levels. Chairman Kishor provided a further breakdown of the results for each paper.
The Paper-I examination, which is meant for teachers of classes 9 and 10, was held in 16 subjects. The pass percentage for this paper was recorded at 62.56%.
The Paper-II exam, intended for teachers of classes 11 and 12, was conducted in a wider range of 29 subjects. The qualifying rate for this more advanced paper was 52.17%.
How to Access Scorecards and Next Steps
With the results now officially declared, the next step for all candidates is to access their individual scorecards. Chairman Anand Kishor stated that qualified candidates can check and download their scorecards from the official website of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
To access the scorecard, candidates will need to use their unique login credentials provided during the registration process. This result is a crucial step for aspiring secondary and senior secondary teachers in Bihar, as it determines their eligibility for teaching positions in state-run schools.
The successful conduction of STET 2025 and the declaration of results paves the way for the next phase of teacher recruitment, aiming to strengthen the educational framework in Bihar with a new pool of eligible educators.
