Bihar Launches 'Mukhyamantri Bharat Darshan Yojana' for Secondary School Students
Bihar's Bharat Darshan Yojana for School Tours Nationwide

The Bihar government has announced an ambitious new initiative to broaden the horizons of its students. Under the newly launched 'Mukhyamantri Bharat Darshan Yojana,' students studying in state-run secondary schools will be taken on educational tours to important historical sites and scientific institutions across India.

Minister Directs Swift Implementation

State Education Minister Sunil Kumar issued directives for the scheme's immediate rollout during a review meeting held on Monday. He instructed concerned officials to begin groundwork for sending students on interstate tours at the earliest. An official from the education department confirmed that the groundwork is currently in progress and the scheme is expected to become operational within the next few months.

Expanding Beyond State Borders

This national scheme builds upon the success of the existing 'Mukhyamantri Bihar Darshan Yojana.' The key difference between the two programs is their scope. While the Bihar Darshan Yojana facilitates tours within the state for children from primary and middle schools, the new Bharat Darshan Yojana is designed specifically for senior students in secondary schools to travel outside Bihar and explore the country.

An official explained the distinction clearly: "The basic difference is that in the 'Bharat Darshan Yojana,' students from secondary schools will be sent on tours across the country, while in the Bihar Darshan Yojana, children from primary and middle schools are sent on tours within the state."

Potential Destinations for Students

According to sources, the education department is considering a list of iconic national monuments and sites for these educational journeys. The proposed itinerary for students may include visits to:

  • The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra
  • The Red Fort and Qutub Minar in Delhi
  • The historic Charminar in Hyderabad

These tours aim to provide students with firsthand experience of India's rich cultural heritage and scientific advancements, moving learning beyond the classroom. The initiative represents a significant step by the Bihar government to enhance experiential learning and national integration for its youth.
