The Central Sanskrit University (CSU) has officially introduced a new entrance examination, NEET-PA, for admissions to its integrated Pre-Ayurveda and Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) programme. The exam will govern entry into the 7.5-year course, combining foundational Ayurveda studies with the BAMS degree.

According to the university’s announcement on 10 July 2026, registrations for NEET-PA are expected to open later this month. The exam will replace previous admission methods and aims to standardise the selection process for the integrated programme, which blends traditional Sanskrit-based Ayurveda education with modern medical training.
The 7.5-year curriculum is designed to produce skilled Ayurveda practitioners, with the first phase focusing on Pre-Ayurveda subjects including Sanskrit, Ayurvedic philosophy, and basic sciences, followed by the BAMS component covering clinical and pharmaceutical aspects.

CSU officials stated that NEET-PA will ensure merit-based and transparent admissions, aligning with the National Education Policy’s emphasis on holistic and multidisciplinary learning. The exam is expected to attract students passionate about traditional medicine and Sanskrit studies.
