CTET February 2026: Application Process Now Live

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially commenced the online registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the February 2026 session. Aspiring teachers across India can now submit their applications through the official portal, ctet.nic.in. The board has set a strict deadline, and the application window will remain open only until 18 December.

Exam Details and Required Documents

The CTET is a crucial assessment designed to evaluate the comprehensive skills and subject-specific knowledge of teaching candidates. The examination for the February 2026 session is scheduled to be held on 8 February. It will be conducted in an offline, OMR-based mode across 136 cities in India. Candidates will have 150 minutes to complete the test.

Before starting the application, candidates must keep the following documents ready:

  • A valid Email ID and Mobile Number
  • Photo ID proof such as Aadhar, PAN, Passport, or Driving Licence
  • Scanned copies of a recent photograph and signature
  • Educational certificates for Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, and D.El.Ed/ B.Ed
  • Debit/credit card, net banking details, or UPI for fee payment
  • Category certificate and PwD certificate, if applicable

  9. Proceed to pay the requisite examination fee using the available online payment methods.
  10. Finally, take a printout of the confirmation page for your records.

Examination Fee and Important Caution

The application fee varies based on the category and the number of papers. General and OBC category candidates need to pay Rs. 1,000 for one paper (either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1,200 for both papers. For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories or Persons with Disabilities (PwD), the fee is reduced to ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both papers.

A critical point for all applicants is the correction window. The CTET notification clearly states that no changes can be made to the application details after the examination fee has been submitted. However, a limited facility for correcting certain particulars (excluding the chosen exam city) may be provided for a specified period, which will be announced on the CTET website. Therefore, candidates are advised to double-check every entry before finalizing their payment.

With the registration process now active, all aspiring teachers are encouraged to complete their applications well before the December 18 deadline to avoid any last-minute technical issues.
