Gujarat Class 12 Science Practical Exams Start with Strict Monitoring

GSHSEB Class 12 Science Practical Exams Kick Off in Gujarat with Rigorous Oversight

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has officially initiated the Class 12 science practical examinations, starting from Thursday, February 5, and continuing through February 13. This crucial phase in the academic calendar sees the participation of more than one lakh students from across the state, setting the stage for the upcoming main board exams scheduled to commence from February 26.

Enhanced Monitoring to Ensure Fairness and Transparency

In response to past complaints where some schools were alleged to have treated practical exams as a mere formality and awarded inflated marks, the education department has implemented stringent monitoring mechanisms. To curb irregularities and uphold integrity, District Education Officers (DEOs) have mandated the appointment of one external observer at each examination center.

According to board officials, these observers will closely supervise the conduct of the examinations, ensuring that no malpractice occurs. Their presence is aimed at fostering a transparent environment where students can be assessed fairly based on their practical skills and knowledge.

Daily Upload of Marks to Prevent Post-Exam Manipulation

Further strengthening the process, schools have been directed to upload students' practical marks on a daily basis immediately after the completion of examinations. This measure is designed to prevent any post-exam manipulation and maintain the accuracy of the assessment records. By requiring timely submissions, the board aims to eliminate discrepancies and ensure that marks reflect genuine student performance.

Additional Instructions for Internal Assessments and Other Exams

Simultaneously, the board has issued instructions for schools to upload internal assessment marks and school-level subject examination marks for Class 10 and Sanskrit Prathama students. This upload must be completed on the board's website between February 5 and February 21. Schools are advised to promptly contact the board in case of any discrepancies related to subjects or marks, facilitating swift resolution and maintaining the integrity of the overall evaluation process.

This comprehensive approach by GSHSEB underscores its commitment to enhancing the credibility of board examinations in Gujarat, ensuring that students are evaluated in a fair and transparent manner.
