Gujarat State Examination Board Declares Class 6 Entrance Test Results
The State Examination Board in Ahmedabad has officially announced the results of the common entrance test conducted for admission to Class 6 in several prestigious educational institutions across Gujarat. This exam, held on January 31, saw a massive participation of 5.9 lakh students, marking a significant milestone in the state's educational landscape.
Top Performers and Merit List Details
According to the declared results, only 27 students from 25 schools achieved the highest score of 109 marks out of 120, emerging as the top performers in this competitive examination. The merit list has been prepared with specific cutoffs: students scoring above 50 marks qualify in the general category, while those from scheduled caste and scheduled tribe categories need a minimum of 45 marks.
The results reveal a detailed breakdown of student performance across various score ranges:
- 743 students from 644 schools scored 96 marks or above, representing 80% or higher.
- 4,397 students from 2,812 schools secured 84 marks or above, achieving 70% or more.
- 14,289 students from 6,765 schools scored 72 marks or more, which is 60% or above.
- 37,519 students from 12,609 schools achieved at least 60 marks, equivalent to 50%.
- 90,888 students from 20,469 schools scored 48 marks or above, representing 40% or higher.
Admission and Scholarship Process Initiated
Based on these results, the admission process and scholarship allocation will now be initiated for various programs. The exam serves as the gateway for admission to Gyan Shakti residential schools, Gyan Shakti tribal residential schools, and Raksha Shakti schools. Additionally, it determines eligibility for the chief minister Gyan Setu merit scholarship scheme.
Importantly, this common entrance test will also be used for admissions to tribal students in institutions run by the Gujarat State Tribal Education Society, including Eklavya Model residential schools and Sainik Schools. No separate entrance test will be conducted for these institutions, streamlining the admission process and reducing redundancy for applicants.
The announcement underscores the state's commitment to providing equitable educational opportunities, with a focus on merit-based selection and support for underprivileged communities through targeted scholarship schemes.
