The Gujarat State School Textbook Board has intensified its operations to ensure timely distribution of textbooks across all primary schools ahead of the school enrolment drive. Acting chairman Manu Pawara announced that the board is working on a war footing with robust planning to deliver textbooks for all mediums, from primary to higher secondary levels, within the stipulated timeline.
Overcoming Global Challenges
Pawara acknowledged that the board faced significant global challenges, including delays in paper imports due to international conflicts and legal processes. Despite these hurdles, the board managed to sustain large-scale printing operations. He assured that there will be no increase in textbook prices for the current academic year, providing relief to students and parents.
Distribution Progress
Textbooks for private and non-granted schools have already reached distributors and are available to students. For government primary schools, free textbooks will be delivered at the taluka level before the Shala Praveshotsav event. Distribution to secondary and higher secondary schools is also progressing rapidly, with support from various government agencies.
Digital Backup System
In a forward-looking move, the board has introduced an advanced digital backup system. All textbooks are available as e-books on the official website, allowing students and teachers to access chapters online if physical copies are delayed. This initiative ensures uninterrupted learning and serves as a reliable alternative during distribution bottlenecks.
