The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has commenced the counselling registration process for engineering and architecture courses. Students who successfully cleared the COMEDK UGET 2026 examination and received their rank cards on May 29 are now eligible to proceed to the admission stage.
Eligibility and Registration Process
Candidates aspiring to participate in the counselling must first register online through the official COMEDK portal. Following registration, document verification will be conducted. Only those students whose documents are approved by COMEDK will be permitted to engage in choice filling and subsequent seat allotment rounds.
More than 150 participating colleges across Karnataka will admit students through this centralized online counselling process.
Steps to Register for COMEDK UGET 2026 Counselling
- Log in to the COMEDK portal using the same credentials utilized during the exam application.
- Click on the “Counselling Registration” tab.
- Pay the non-refundable counselling registration fee of Rs 2,000.
- Open the “Document Upload” section and upload all required documents.
- Once the status changes to “Document Approved,” candidates become eligible for the next stage.
After document approval, students can participate in choice filling, select their preferred colleges and courses, and take part in the mock allotment process. The mock allotment helps candidates understand their probable seat based on current preferences before the final Round 1 allotment.
Seat Allotment Options
Once a seat is allotted, students must choose one of the following options:
- Accept & Freeze: Keep the allotted seat and exit further rounds.
- Accept & Upgrade: Keep the seat but remain eligible for a better option in later rounds.
- Reject & Upgrade: Reject the current seat and wait for a better allotment.
- Reject & Withdraw: Exit the counselling process completely.
Candidates who do not make any decision after seat allotment will be treated as having chosen Reject & Withdraw and will not be considered for further rounds.
The counselling process will be conducted through multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2 for KKR candidates, Round 3, and Round 4.
