The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has officially announced the academic calendar for its major examinations, releasing the datesheets for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled for 2026. This crucial announcement provides a clear roadmap for thousands of students across the state, allowing them to structure their study plans effectively.
HP Board Exam Schedule: Key Dates and Duration
According to the official notification, the HP board Class 10 and Class 12 exams will commence on March 3, 2026. The examination period for the two classes will differ. The Class 10 board exams are scheduled to conclude on March 28, 2026, while the Class 12 examinations will continue until April 1, 2026.
The board has published the schedule for a wide range of examinations, including the annual exams for regular students, state open school (SOS) candidates, as well as compartment, grade improvement, and additional subject exams. This comprehensive release ensures all student categories are informed well in advance.
Subject-wise Timetable and Practical Exam Guidelines
The examination schedule details the specific subjects for each day. For Class 10 students, the first day of exams, March 3, will be dedicated to the English paper. The final exam for this class will be Social Science on March 28.
Class 12 students will begin their theory examinations with the Sanskrit paper on March 3. The final theory paper for the senior secondary level will be Music on April 1.
In a significant update for practical examinations, the board has announced that the Class 12 practical examination for Accountancy, including project work, will be held between February 20 and February 28, 2026. This schedule applies to all regular and State Open School (SOS) candidates, and the tests will be conducted at their respective schools or affiliated institutions.
The board has advised all candidates to contact the principal of their institution on or before February 18, 2026, to obtain the subject-wise date and time for their practical exams. For vocational subjects under the NSQF framework, the practical examinations will be organized internally by the concerned schools based on a program fixed by the SPD (ISSE).
Most theory papers will be held from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm.
