Hubballi School Transforms Campus Walls into Vibrant Educational Canvas
In an inspiring initiative that has captured public attention, a government public school in Bidnal, Hubballi, has transformed its campus walls into a vibrant learning space through large, high-quality murals. The Karnataka Public School in Bidnal undertook this project with the clear intention of motivating students and educating them about the rich legacy they inherit as citizens.
Murals Featuring National Icons and Heritage Sites
The school walls now feature impressive murals depicting freedom fighters, national figures, and achievers from diverse fields including education, science, sports, social reform, public service, and arts. Alongside these inspirational personalities, the artwork showcases important historic places from the region and the state, creating a visual connection between classroom learning and local identity.
Basavantappa Keri, an assistant teacher at KPS Bidnal, Hubballi, explained that over 90 pictures were generated using advanced technology digital wallpaper printing and carefully pasted on school walls. "The pictures have a good life, and the school management is also taking care of the pictures," he noted.
Carefully Curated Educational Content
The selection of images was thoughtfully planned considering student study materials and included:
- Motivating achievers and freedom fighters
- Bharat Ratna awardees and Jnanpith awardees
- Quotes from Dr. BR Ambedkar and APJ Abdul Kalam
- Pictures of Parliament and universities
- Folk arts and sports imagery
- Various other educational attractions
The project was carried out with support from former corporator Mohan Asundi, with the walls painted with assistance from ARK company.

Teachers are actively using the artwork as a practical educational tool for discussion, storytelling, and general awareness. This innovative approach has effectively turned corridors and open spaces into extensions of the classroom, making inspiration visible and constant throughout the school day.
"The initiative is designed to make inspiration visible and constant, so that children see examples of excellence and service every day as part of their normal school routine," explained school representatives. Students now encounter daily reminders of achievement and heritage as they move through their educational environment.

The beautifully painted walls are attracting significant numbers of visitors who come specifically to view and photograph them. People from nearby areas, and increasingly from across the district, are stopping by to see the campus, creating positive buzz around the school and its creative approach to promoting learning.

The school, already known across Karnataka for having the highest demand for admission in LKG and UKG classes, is seeing its reputation grow even further through this innovative initiative.
