The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) is set to launch a significant two-day event focused on digital learning. The E-Shiksha Mahotsav, an information and communication technology (ICT) championship, will commence on Thursday. This initiative is designed to assess the digital competency of students studying in Classes IX to XII within government schools across the state.
Platform for Showcasing Digital Talent
This festival aims to provide a dedicated platform for young learners to demonstrate their proficiency with technology. State project director Shashi Ranjan emphasized that the mahotsav will allow students to display their digital skills and enhance their interaction with emerging technologies. He stated that this effort is crucial for strengthening ICT-enabled education throughout Jharkhand.
Rigorous Selection Process for Fair Competition
The road to the state-level event began with district-level competitions held on November 18 and 19. From these preliminary rounds, a total of 192 students have been selected to participate in the upcoming state championship.
To ensure a transparent and fair selection process, especially in cases of tied scores, the council has established clear tie-breaking rules. If two or more participants secure identical marks, their attendance records will be verified against the e-vidyavahini data and official school attendance. Should the attendance records also match, the final winner will be determined by considering the student's regular assessment for improved learning (RAIL) score.
"Steps have been taken to ensure a fair, credible, and competitive selection process," Shashi Ranjan added, underlining the integrity of the event.

The E-Shiksha Mahotsav represents a concrete step by the Jharkhand government to prioritize digital literacy and hands-on tech skills within the formal education system. By creating a competitive yet inclusive environment, the JEPC hopes to motivate students to engage deeply with digital tools and prepare them for a technology-driven future. This event is expected to highlight the digital potential within government schools and set a benchmark for ICT integration in classrooms across the state.
