Rajasthan Schools Directed to Celebrate Maharana Pratap Coronation Day on February 28

The School Education Department of Rajasthan issued a formal order on Monday, instructing all government and private schools across the state to observe the coronation day of Maharana Pratap on February 28. This directive follows an earlier announcement made by School Education Minister Madan Dilawar in December during his address at the Rashtriya Swadeshi Mahotsav in Chittorgarh.

Celebration Details and Exemptions

According to the official order, the celebration will be conducted without affecting the board exam schedules for classes 5, 8, 10, and 12. This ensures that crucial academic assessments proceed uninterrupted while honoring the historical figure.

School administrations have been tasked with organizing various activities to mark the occasion. These include incorporating inspirational stories and patriotic songs based on the life of Maharana Pratap into the morning assembly. Additionally, schools will host competitions such as essays, quizzes, and poster-making to engage students creatively.

Targeted Student Participation

The order specifies that only students in classes 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11 will participate in these activities. This targeted approach allows younger and non-board-exam classes to fully engage in the celebrations while maintaining focus on academic priorities for others.

This initiative aims to foster patriotism and historical awareness among students, highlighting the legacy of Maharana Pratap, a revered Rajput warrior known for his resistance against Mughal expansion. The celebration is part of broader efforts to integrate cultural and historical education into the school curriculum across Rajasthan.
