MP Board Launches Mobile App for Real-Time Monitoring of Answer Sheet Evaluation

As Class 10 and 12 board examinations progress across Madhya Pradesh, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) is accelerating preparations for the next critical phase. In a significant move, the board will soon initiate central monitoring of answer sheet evaluation through a dedicated mobile application, replacing last year's web-based system.

Enhancing Accountability and Timeliness

With more than 16 lakh students currently appearing for the examinations statewide, the post-exam period often brings anxious anticipation about results. Board officials emphasize that the new app is designed to ensure the evaluation process remains uniform, accountable, and timely once it begins on a full scale. The application will record teachers' attendance at evaluation centers, track the number of hours spent on duty, and log the daily count of answer sheets checked.

Senior authorities will gain the ability to monitor progress center-wise, enabling early identification of delays or irregularities. This proactive approach aims to address past complaints where some teachers skipped evaluation duties or failed to complete required working hours.

Transition from Web-Based to Mobile Monitoring

MPBSE Chief Systems Officer Bhupesh Gupta confirmed to TOI that the existing web-based monitoring system, introduced last year, will be phased out. "In place of the web-based monitoring system, we will be introducing the app for real-time monitoring of evaluation work. The teachers' attendance and the number of copies checked each day will be recorded through this app. We are planning to introduce this app in the coming days of evaluation work," he stated.

Evaluation work commenced on Sunday across the state, involving over 35,000 teachers assigned to assess answer sheets. Currently, monitoring is being conducted through last year's portal, with the shift to the mobile app expected shortly. Evaluators were introduced to the new app during recent training sessions held ahead of the assessment process, where they received briefings on its features and reporting mechanisms.

Strengthening Supervision and Reducing Gaps

Officials assert that this initiative will strengthen supervision and minimize reporting gaps during evaluation. By maintaining a daily digital record of attendance and work output, the app aims to foster a more organized and closely monitored checking process. This effort is crucial as lakhs of students continue their exams, with the board focused on ensuring timely result declarations once the writing phase concludes.

This development follows last year's introduction of an app by the board to monitor the movement of examination materials from police stations to centers, track mobile phone sealing, and verify the presence of center heads and invigilators. The new evaluation monitoring app represents a continued commitment to leveraging technology for enhanced exam administration and transparency in Madhya Pradesh's education system.
