Nagpur SSC Exams: Stricter Frisking, Mobile Phone Ban Enforced

Nagpur SSC Examinations Commence with Enhanced Security Protocols

As the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations for English-medium schools commenced on Monday across Nagpur division, education authorities have implemented significantly stricter security measures to maintain examination integrity. The Nagpur Divisional Board conducted an urgent video conference on Sunday evening, just hours before the exams began, to reinforce comprehensive frisking procedures and enforce a complete ban on mobile phones at all examination centers.

Zero-Tolerance Approach to Examination Violations

Shivling Patve, chairman of the Nagpur Divisional Board, personally conducted the video conference with officials from all six districts under the board's jurisdiction. "I directed all district officials to ensure that frisking rules are implemented with absolute rigor," stated Patve. "While these standard operating procedures have always existed, their implementation may not have been sufficiently stringent in the past. Moving forward, we are adopting a zero-tolerance policy toward any violations of examination protocols."

Board officials confirmed that comprehensive frisking for mobile devices and other prohibited items will be strictly enforced at every examination center entry point. Supervisory staff have received explicit instructions to maintain continuous vigilance throughout the entire examination period, with center heads mandated to immediately report any suspicious or unusual behavior observed among students or staff.

Response to Previous Examination Concerns

The enhanced security measures follow recent concerns regarding examination discipline and alleged malpractice incidents during the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. Addressing specific allegations of a potential paper leak during the HSC exams, Chairman Patve provided clarification regarding an incident involving a female student.

"Some questions were discovered on a girl's mobile phone," explained Patve. "However, it is important to note that she was unable to access or utilize the device during the actual examination. Furthermore, these questions did not circulate widely among other students." According to the chairman's statement, there was no photographic evidence of the actual question paper; rather, certain questions contained in a message bore similarities to those appearing in the examination paper.

Due Process and Student Rights Protected

Officials emphasized that established procedures will be followed meticulously in the HSC case. As per existing examination rules, the student in question has been permitted to complete her entire examination schedule. Following the conclusion of all examinations, she will be provided with a formal opportunity to present her defense before the board's disciplinary committee.

The Nagpur Divisional Board oversees secondary education across six districts in the region. With the SSC examinations now officially underway, board officials have reiterated that their primary focus remains the strict enforcement of all standard operating procedures and the prevention of any form of academic malpractice.
