Odisha Board Sets March 19 Start Date for Class X Exam Evaluation

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha has announced that the evaluation of answer sheets for the Class X High School Certificate (HSC), Madhyama, and State Open School Certificate (SOSC) examinations is scheduled to commence on March 19. This critical process, which determines the academic outcomes for hundreds of thousands of students, is expected to run continuously until April 2, as officials finalize the operational details to ensure a smooth and efficient assessment.

Massive Scale of Evaluation with Extensive Teacher Deployment

Annually, the BSE designates approximately 50 centers across the state specifically for evaluation purposes. This year, close to 12,000 teachers will be deployed to these centers to meticulously review and score the answer sheets. The large-scale involvement of educators underscores the board's commitment to maintaining high standards and accuracy in the evaluation process, which is crucial for fair and reliable results.

Record Student Participation in 2024 Examinations

In 2024, a total of 5,61,997 students have registered to appear for the matriculation examination, reflecting a significant level of participation across Odisha. The exams are being conducted at 3,082 examination centers throughout the state, highlighting the extensive logistical efforts required to manage such a vast academic event. The evaluation phase follows the completion of these exams, marking a pivotal step toward result declaration.

Officials from the BSE are currently working on the modalities for the evaluation, including scheduling, distribution of answer sheets, and coordination among teachers. This preparatory work aims to streamline the process, minimize delays, and uphold the integrity of the assessment. The board's proactive approach in organizing these details is essential to meet the anticipated deadline and provide timely results to students and educational institutions.
