Punjab Class 8 Results 2025-26 Declared: Tamanna Achieves Perfect Score

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the Class VIII results for the academic session 2025-2026 on Friday, with Tamanna from Saraswati Senior Secondary School in Jaito, Faridkot, securing the top position by achieving a flawless 100% score. This outstanding performance highlights her academic excellence in the board examinations.

Top Rankers and Tie-Breaker Rule

Following closely, Japneet Kaur of Govt Middle School in Arkwas, Sangrur, secured the second position with 598 marks, equivalent to 99.67%. Jashandeep Kaur from Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School in Kot Sukhia, Faridkot, also scored 598 marks (99.67%) and was awarded the third position. In case of a tie, as per PSEB norms, the younger candidate is given the higher rank, a rule confirmed by PSEB chairman Dr Amarpal Singh. This tie-breaker ensured fair ranking among the high achievers.

Overall Performance and District Dominance

This year, a total of 2,62,966 students from 10,422 schools across Punjab appeared for the Class 8 examinations. Out of these, 2,53,789 students were promoted, resulting in an impressive overall pass percentage of 96.51%. Notably, students from Faridkot and Sangrur districts dominated the top ranks, with two of the top three positions being secured by schools in Faridkot, showcasing the academic strength of these regions.

Enhanced Examination Process and Future Plans

Dr Amarpal Singh emphasized that the examinations were conducted with greater rigour and transparency this year, aiming to maintain high standards in assessment. He added that the Board is committed to further improving the quality of question papers and curriculum to enhance learning outcomes in future examinations, ensuring a robust educational framework for students.

Result Access and Supplementary Exams

The detailed results are available on the official PSEB website and other result portals for easy access by students and parents. For students who were not promoted, there will be an opportunity to appear in supplementary examinations scheduled for June 2026. The application process and schedule for these exams will be communicated separately through school logins and official notifications, providing a clear pathway for academic recovery.
