Seven Gaya Blocks to Begin Degree Classes July 1

Gaya: Following a directive from the state government, seven blocks in Gaya district — Atri, Neemchak-Bathani, Konch, Mohra, Banke Bazar, Dumaria and Mohanpur — will start degree-level classes from July 1. District Magistrate Shashank Shubankar on Thursday reviewed preparations via video conference with sub-divisional officers, the Magadh University vice-chancellor, newly appointed principals, education officials and engineers from technical departments.

Implementation Under Saat Nischay-3

The classes will be initiated under the Saat Nischay-3 programme. Initially, they will be conducted in temporary facilities until permanent campuses are developed, the DM stated. He emphasized that at least five acres of land is required in rural areas and 2.5 acres in urban areas for setting up permanent degree colleges, and land identification is being prioritized.

Temporary Campus Facilities

Temporary campuses will be equipped with essential amenities including furniture, computers, Wi-Fi, drinking water, separate toilets, electricity, lighting, fans, coolers, stationery, and security. Approach roads to the institutions are also being upgraded to ensure accessibility.

Oversight and Quality Assurance

Separate committees headed by ADM-rank officers have been constituted for each college. Sub-divisional officers have been tasked with inspecting the campuses. The DM stressed that efforts are being made to provide quality educational facilities for students in rural areas as well, ensuring that no student is deprived of higher education opportunities.
