The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) has launched a significant security overhaul for its intermediate pass certificates and marks memorandums, effective from the current academic year. This move aims to combat document forgery and simplify the verification process for employers and educational institutions.
Multi-Layered Security to Thwart Forgery
While the certificates may look standard, they now incorporate several advanced, covert security measures. A key addition is the use of ultraviolet (UV) fluorescent fibres embedded directly into the paper. These tiny, coloured fibres are invisible under normal light but glow brightly when exposed to UV light, creating a formidable barrier against duplication.
With this upgrade, the total number of security features on the certificate has risen from 18 to 25, marking one of the most secure academic documents issued by the state board.
Key Physical and Digital Upgrades
In a notable visual change, the memorandum of marks will now feature a colour passport-size photograph of the student, replacing the older black-and-white image. This is designed to aid in quicker and more accurate identification.
The physical quality of the certificate has also been enhanced. Officials confirm the documents will now be printed on thicker, special paper coated with a thin plastic layer. This makes them waterproof, resistant to tearing, and tamper-proof, ensuring they remain in good condition over time.
Instant Verification via QR Code
Perhaps the most user-friendly update is the inclusion of a unique QR code on every certificate. This code is linked directly to TG BIE's secure digital database. Employers, universities, and other institutions can simply scan the code with a smartphone to instantly verify the authenticity of the academic credentials, eliminating the need for time-consuming direct inquiries with the Board.
This digital step brings the Telangana Board's certification process in line with modern technological standards, prioritizing both security and convenience for students and verifiers alike.
