Govt Partners with Physics Wallah to Offer Free Online Coaching for Competitive Exams

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched a significant new initiative aimed at providing free online coaching to aspirants preparing for major competitive examinations across India. This announcement was made through an official press release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), highlighting the government's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for underprivileged students.

MoU Signed with Physics Wallah Foundation

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Physics Wallah (PW) Foundation to deliver free online coaching to 5,000 candidates each year. This scheme is specifically designed for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri CARES for Children Scheme. The initiative is open to eligible candidates from all states, including Odisha, ensuring nationwide coverage and accessibility.

Exams Covered Under the Scheme

The coaching support under this program will focus on preparation for key competitive examinations, including the Civil Services Examination (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Examination, and various Banking Examinations. In a clarifying note, the Ministry emphasized that no similar MoU has been signed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, underscoring the targeted nature of this initiative for SC and OBC communities.

Features of the Online Coaching Programme

Selected beneficiaries will gain free access to a comprehensive online coaching platform that offers a range of educational resources. These include:

  • Live and recorded classes for flexible learning
  • Test series to assess preparation levels
  • Previous year question papers for practice
  • Detailed study material curated by experts
  • Mentorship and doubt-solving support
  • Counselling services for guidance

The selection of candidates will be conducted on a merit basis through a dedicated online portal, ensuring a fair and transparent process for all applicants.

Objective of the Initiative

The primary objective of this initiative is to empower eligible beneficiaries by enabling them to appear in competitive examinations for employment opportunities. By improving access to preparatory resources, the program aims to foster social inclusion and promote equal opportunity, aligning with broader goals of educational equity and empowerment. This information was officially provided by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Ramdas Athawale, in a written reply presented in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
