44 Wardha Students Embark on Educational Tour to ISRO Facilities
A total of 44 students from Wardha district have departed for an educational tour to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru and Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh. This innovative initiative is organized by the District Planning Committee with the goal of fostering scientific curiosity and inspiring future careers in advanced technological fields.
Selection Based on Outstanding Performance
The students were carefully selected from both rural and urban areas across the district based on their exceptional performance at the district-level science exhibition. This merit-based selection process ensures that the most promising young minds receive this valuable exposure opportunity.
Minister's Vision for Scientific Development
Guardian Minister Pankaj Bhoyar extended his best wishes to the students before their departure for Bengaluru. He emphasized that the visit, organized by the District Institute of Education and Training, would significantly enhance scientific curiosity among children and motivate them to pursue careers in advanced scientific domains.
"Students will gain exposure to advanced sciences such as artificial intelligence and will have opportunities for research in the future," Bhoyar stated. "Young scientists should make the most of this visit and bring laurels to the district and the country in the coming years."
He further explained that the tour was organized with the specific vision of nurturing scientific temperament among students and enabling them to achieve global recognition in scientific fields. Bhoyar connected this initiative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis on the importance of science for national and global development, noting that this program seeks to translate that vision into concrete action by promoting scientific interest among the youth.
Future Plans for NASA Visits
In an exciting development, Bhoyar revealed that a proposal has been submitted to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to send students who excel at the state-level science exhibition to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States. "Once approval is received, students will be taken to NASA," he confirmed, indicating an expansion of this educational exposure program to international institutions.
District Administration's Comprehensive Approach
District Collector Vanmathi C provided details about the selection process, explaining that science exhibitions were conducted at both taluka and district levels to generate interest in scientific learning among students. "From eight talukas, 44 students have been selected and sent to ISRO. The response has been extremely encouraging," she reported.
She emphasized that this initiative will provide rural students with particularly valuable exposure to scientific research environments that they might not otherwise access. Vanmathi added that students should fully utilize this opportunity and aspire to become researchers who contribute to scientific advancement.
Comprehensive Support and Security Arrangements
The educational tour includes comprehensive support from the district administration. Three professors, an extension officer, and a doctor are accompanying the students throughout their journey, ensuring both educational guidance and medical support. All logistical arrangements have been meticulously planned and executed by the district administration.
Addressing parental concerns, Bhoyar, who also serves as Minister of State for Home, provided reassurance about student safety. "I appeal to parents not to worry about their children. As Minister of State for Home, I assure complete security for the children throughout this educational journey," he stated confidently.
