GTU Celebrates 15th Annual Convocation with NSE CEO Ashish Chauhan as Chief Guest
Gujarat Technological University (GTU) marked a significant milestone on Thursday as it hosted its 15th annual convocation ceremony at the prestigious Science City in Ahmedabad. The event saw the distinguished presence of Ashish Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), who graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered an inspiring convocation address to the graduating students.
Ashish Chauhan's Insightful Address on Technology and Human Intent
In his thought-provoking speech, Chauhan delved into the intricate relationship between technology and human progress. He emphasized a crucial perspective: technology, by itself, does not inherently bring about advancement. Instead, it serves as a powerful tool that strengthens human intent and aids in achieving well-defined goals. Chauhan elaborated that when intentions are aligned with long-term visions, technology can create stability and foster sustainable growth. Conversely, if goals are short-sighted, technology might inadvertently generate risks and uncertainties.
Lessons from India's Financial Markets Evolution
Drawing parallels to India's financial landscape, Chauhan reflected on the transformative journey of the country's markets. He recalled the early 1990s, when India embarked on modernizing its financial systems, a period initially marked by chaos and challenges. However, through perseverance, the establishment of robust systems, unwavering transparency, and the cultivation of trust, India's financial markets have evolved remarkably. Today, they stand proudly among the top five global markets, a testament to the power of strategic intent coupled with technological integration.
A Grand Celebration of Academic Achievements
The convocation was a grand celebration of academic excellence, with degrees conferred upon an impressive total of 36,935 students. This comprehensive tally included degrees awarded to 25,021 students across 38 diverse courses, diplomas presented to 11,858 students, and postgraduate diplomas granted to 56 individuals. The ceremony not only honored the hard work and dedication of the graduates but also highlighted GTU's commitment to fostering education and innovation in the region.
