Plantation Drive Under National Campaign
Kurukshetra University organized a plantation drive under the nationwide 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and student engagement. The programme also marked the active participation of the university's newly constituted Students Welfare Committee.
Leadership and Student Involvement
The plantation drive was led by Prof AR Chaudhri, Dean Students Welfare, who highlighted the importance of environmental conservation. He said, "We encourage every student to become an ambassador of sustainable living by actively participating in tree plantation and ecological protection initiatives." He further noted that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had recently constituted Students Welfare Committees in all state universities to strengthen student participation in campus development and welfare activities. These committees will function under the supervision of the respective Dean Students Welfare.
Commitment to Environmental Protection
Participants planted saplings and reaffirmed their commitment to environmental protection, stressing that collective efforts and public participation were essential to making the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign a meaningful and lasting success. The university aims to continue such drives to foster a culture of sustainability and civic responsibility among students.
