GMCH's Laxmikant Tiwari Honoured with Prestigious Bharat Gaurav Award
Laxmikant Tiwari, the Radiological Safety Officer at Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, has received the esteemed Bharat Gaurav Award. The Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, presented this honour to Tiwari. The ceremony took place at a private hotel in Chandigarh.

Governor Gulab Chand Kataria chaired the award function. Several dignitaries attended the event. Notable attendees included Mahamandaleshwar Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Haryana cabinet minister Krishna Kumar Bedi, Shyam Singh Rana, and Punjab assembly speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.

The administrator praised Tiwari's exemplary work in radiological safety. He specifically highlighted Tiwari's efforts at GMCH-32's X-ray department. Kataria called this work a benchmark in patient-centric healthcare.
Laxmikant Tiwari joined GMCH in 1994. He has built a strong reputation for his commitment to high-quality radiological safety protocols. His professional integrity is widely acknowledged within the medical community.
Tiwari's Background and Broader Contributions
Tiwari was born in Chandigarh. He pursued his higher education at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI). Beyond his official duties, Tiwari actively participates in social and welfare initiatives.
His social service has earned him the Chandigarh administration's State Award on two separate occasions. Tiwari currently holds the position of national president for the Indian Association of Radiological Technologists.
He played a significant role in establishing the National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professionals. Authorities nominated him to serve on both the Commission and its Allied Healthcare Professionals Committee.
