Award Ceremony in Gangtok

The award was presented by Arun Kumar Upreti, the Minister of Cooperation for Sikkim, during a National Level Consultative Meeting and Annual Awards Conference held in Gangtok, Sikkim. The event, organized by the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB) based in Mumbai, brought together delegates from across India to discuss new cooperative policies and developmental schemes for cooperative societies.

Davender Shyam, the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank, and Managing Director Sharwan Manta were present to accept the award on behalf of the institute. In his remarks, Shyam credited the achievement to the effective guidance of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, emphasizing that the bank has been consistently achieving new heights under his leadership.

Long-Standing Excellence in Training

Shyam highlighted that ACSTI Sangti has maintained its reputation as a premier training institute in the country for nearly eight years. The institute provides modern, high-quality training programs not only for bank employees but also for members of various cooperative societies throughout Himachal Pradesh. This commitment to excellence has solidified its position as a leader in the field.

Bank's Broader Impact on Socio-Economic Development

Beyond training, the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank plays an active role in the state's socio-economic advancement. Shyam pointed to specific initiatives that have made a tangible difference:

  • Sashakt Mahila Rin Yojna: This unique scheme has benefited over 56,000 women, with disbursements totaling approximately Rs 165 crore, empowering them financially.
  • Sapno Ka Sanchay: A program designed to foster a culture of saving for children's futures, encouraging small-scale savings to ensure long-term security.

Future Plans for Enhanced Training

Managing Director Sharwan Manta shared that the bank is actively working to further elevate training standards. Efforts are underway to affiliate with Tribhuvan University in Gujarat, aiming to introduce new, specialized courses that will enhance the skill sets of participants and keep the institute at the forefront of cooperative education.

This national award serves as a testament to the institute's dedication and the bank's broader commitment to excellence and development in Himachal Pradesh.
