In an extraordinary feat of youthful engineering, an 11-year-old student from Mangaluru has soared into the record books. Eeshan Vikram Palthady, a Class VI pupil at DPS MRPL Mangaluru, has officially set a new benchmark for the 'Fastest to Build a Freestyle FPV Drone (Teenager)'. His remarkable achievement involved assembling a fully functional drone complete with GPS, a camera, and FPV goggles in a mere 60 minutes.
From Recognition to a 'One in a Million' Honour
The young prodigy's accomplishment was first formally recognized on September 8. His fame grew further when, on September 19, the prestigious International Book of Records conferred upon him two distinguished titles. Eeshan was honoured as a 'Super Talented Kid' and received the special recognition of being 'One in a Million'. He is the son of Vikram and Sushma Palthady and an elder brother to Eevan.
A Childhood Fueled by Machinery, Not Just Play
According to his father, Eeshan's fascination with mechanics began at a very tender age. He was famously known as the 'JCB boy' due to his impressive collection of toy excavators. Unlike many of his peers, his curiosity was deeply rooted in the principles of science and engineering rather than simple play.
His formal introduction to drone technology happened in Class I. With his grandmother's encouragement, he received his first toy drone in Class II. This gift ignited a passion that rapidly evolved from casual interest into a dedicated pursuit of knowledge and skill.
The Spark: A Broken Drone and Unyielding Determination
The pivotal moment in Eeshan's journey occurred during a summer vacation in Bengaluru. His uncle gifted him a basic drone. After several flight attempts and a failed effort to get the damaged device repaired, Eeshan's resolve hardened. He decided then and there to build his own drone from scratch.
Bolstered by his father's support, Eeshan began collecting components. He quickly aimed higher, targeting a high-performance freestyle drone instead of a simple model. Through diligent online research, he learned to source top-quality parts at the best possible prices, showcasing not just technical skill but also smart procurement.
Soaring Ambitions: From Workshops to National Service
Eeshan's vision extends far beyond personal records. The young innovator dreams of conducting demonstrations and workshops for students in rural government schools, aiming to share his knowledge and inspire others. On a larger scale, he aspires to design drones that can assist the Indian Army in surveillance and enemy detection, highlighting a profound sense of purpose behind his technical prowess.
Eeshan Vikram Palthady's story is a powerful testament to how early passion, nurtured by family support and self-driven learning, can lead to exceptional achievements. He stands as a shining example of India's young, innovative talent ready to make a mark on the world.
