Mangaluru Witnesses Heartwarming Celebration for Children from Care Centers
In a beautiful demonstration of community solidarity, the Rotary Club of Mangaluru Central joined forces with the Rotaract Club of Mangaluru City to organize the 25th Annual Inter Children's Care and Protection Centres Meet, popularly known as Chinnara Utsav. The event transformed the lives of hundreds of children for one magical day.
Record Participation at Canara High School Event
The festival took place on Sunday at the Canara High School Urva campus, where 430 children from 10 different care centers across Mangaluru City and surrounding areas came together. These children, who often miss parental affection in their daily lives, experienced a day filled with laughter, friendship, and pure joy.
The carefully planned program allowed participants to temporarily forget their challenges and immerse themselves in a world of fun and creative expression. The young attendees enthusiastically participated in various activities designed to highlight their unique talents and abilities.
Celebrity Inauguration and Cultural Extravaganza
The event commenced with a vibrant march past that set an energetic tone for the day. Film artist and music director Gurukiran officially inaugurated the festival, commending the organizers for creating such an important platform for children from care centers.
During his address, Gurukiran emphasized the crucial need to eliminate social inequality and ensure every child gets opportunities to shine. The celebrated musician further delighted everyone by performing a popular song from the hit Kannada film 'Apta Mitra', creating an unforgettable moment for the young audience.
Organizers' Vision and Grand Finale
Dr. Devdas Rai, chairman of the organizing committee, explained the deeper significance behind Chinnara Utsav. "This event represents a key part of our community development initiatives. Our goal is simple yet powerful - to put smiles on these children's faces, even if just for one day, and to reassure them that they are not alone in their journey," he stated in his introductory speech.
The day-long celebration concluded with a valedictory ceremony where Rotary District Governor Elect Sathish Bolar served as the chief guest. The ceremony included distribution of prizes, certificates to winners and runners-up, and presentation of the overall performance trophy to the most outstanding team.
The 25th edition of Chinnara Utsav successfully continued its legacy of bringing happiness and creating cherished memories for children who deserve every opportunity to experience childhood joy and celebration.
