Three Jharkhand Artists Win Top Dance Awards

Ranchi: Three artists from Jharkhand have been selected for the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi awards and the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2024 and 2025, respectively. The awards were announced on Wednesday.

Recognitions for Folk Dance

Butan Devi and Sombari Devi have been chosen for the Sangeet Natak Akademi awards for 2024 in recognition of their exceptional contributions to folk dance. Babita Hembram has been selected for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2025, also for her outstanding work in folk dance.

These honors highlight the rich cultural heritage of Jharkhand and the dedication of these artists to preserving and promoting traditional dance forms. The Sangeet Natak Akademi awards are among the highest national recognitions in the performing arts in India.
