According to industry scooper DanielRPK, the project could begin filming as early as this fall, potentially setting the film up to be Cruise's next major venture before work begins on 'Top Gun 3'. Interestingly, this aligns with reports from October 2025 that indicated that the next part in the film franchise was finally moving ahead.
This update also follows reports of delays in director Doug Liman's project 'Deeper', which was scheduled to star Cruise opposite former flame Ana de Armas. The film's planned August shoot was postponed allegedly due to financing issues. This has prompted the director and actor duo to turn their focus on the 'Edge of Tomorrow' franchise.
