The much-awaited teaser for the patriotic saga 'Border 2' was officially unveiled in Mumbai this afternoon, marking the grand comeback of actor Ahan Shetty. Shetty, who has been on a four-year hiatus since his debut in 'Tadap' (2021), was visibly emotional during the launch event, overwhelmed by the scale of the project and its legacy.
Overwhelming Emotions and a Legendary Co-Star
At the teaser launch event, Ahan Shetty opened up about the intense feelings he experienced. He expressed profound admiration for his co-star, the iconic Sunny Deol, referring to him as "an absolute legend." Sharing the stage with Deol held special significance for Shetty, as it connected him to a family legacy. "Sunny sir did Border with my father, so in a way, I am carrying that legacy forward," he stated emotionally.
Recalling his initial days on the film's set, Ahan admitted to being terrified. "The first few days, I was petrified. My hands were shaking," he confessed. The combination of the film's massive scale, the weight of the original 1997 classic's legacy, and the responsibility of portraying an Air Force officer created an intensely nerve-wracking experience. However, he channeled that fear into his performance, using it as fuel to deliver his best.
Facing Pressure with Fatherly Guidance
Ahan did not shy away from discussing the immense pressure of being part of a sequel to a film that holds a deep place in the audience's heart. He acknowledged the challenge but found motivation in his father, Suniel Shetty's, original role. "There is a certain kind of pressure, but as they say, baap toh baap hota hai. If I can even be 10% of what my father was in that film, I think I will be able to do justice to the character," he added.
Before the cameras started rolling, his father offered him crucial, grounded advice that helped him navigate the project. Suniel Shetty advised him to "just be honest, be myself and have fun." He also told his son not to overthink public opinion and, importantly, "not to compare Border 2 with Border." This guidance helped Ahan focus on creating his own path within the revered franchise.
