Anjali Anand Confronts Body-Shamer with Sharp Wit on Instagram
In a powerful display of self-confidence and zero tolerance for negativity, actress Anjali Anand has once again proven why she is celebrated for her unapologetic authenticity. The celebrity, known for embracing her true self, recently faced an insult online when an internet user mocked her appearance by labeling her "fat" instead of using the term "curvy." Rather than ignoring the rude remark, Anjali hit back directly with a witty and pointed response that has since gone viral.
The Viral Exchange: A Lesson in Confidence
The incident unfolded on Instagram, where a man commented dismissively on Anjali's post. Instead of brushing it off, the actress fired back with a clever retort: "I know I am fat. Same way you know you are bald." She further elaborated in Hindi, stating, "Mote ko mota bolte hai, takle ko takla. Aap samajh gaye ki aur samjhaun? Mujhe pata hai main moti, jaise aap ko pata hai aap takle ho," which translates to "They call a fat person fat, and a bald person bald. You understand that, or should I explain more? I know that I’m fat, just like you know that you’re bald."
Anjali then shared a screenshot of the exchange on her Instagram Stories, captioning it with a bold message: "They also call me UNF–KWITHABLE. Stay away!" This move not only highlighted her refusal to be shamed but also empowered others to stand firm against body-shaming.
Anjali Anand's Rising Career Trajectory
Daughter of the late actor Dinesh Anand, Anjali began her career with the 2017 web series ‘Untag.’ She gained significant notice on television with roles in ‘Dhhai Kilo Prem’ (2017) and ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ (2018). Her transition to Bollywood included a small role in Akshay Kumar's ‘Bell Bottom,’ but it was her portrayal of Golu (Gayatri Randhawa) in Karan Johar's 2023 blockbuster ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ that catapulted her to widespread popularity. The film featured an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog.
Recent Projects and Critical Acclaim

Created by Shibani Dandekar Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda, and directed by Hitesh Bhatia, the series follows women running a drug cartel disguised as a food delivery service in Thane, Mumbai. It features notable actors like Shabana Azmi, Jyothika, Shalini Pandey, and Nimisha Sajayan, and has earned praise from viewers for its gripping narrative and strong performances.
