Aparachithe Team Celebrates Film Success with Heartfelt Event
Following its emotional resonance with audiences, the film Aparachithe continues to garner appreciation for its deeply rooted storytelling and significant social relevance. On April 21, the film's team convened in the city to mark its success, creating a memorable occasion that highlighted the project's humanitarian impact.
Proceeds Donated to Acid Attack Survivors
A notable aspect of the celebration was the charitable gesture made by the filmmakers. Part of the film's proceeds was donated to three acid attack survivors, who were honored at the event. This act underscored the film's commitment to social causes, aligning with its thematic focus on resilience and community struggles.
Geetha Priya on the Film's Journey and Reception
Actor-producer Geetha Priya, who spearheaded the project, described the film's reception as both fulfilling and validating. "The journey with Aparachithe has been beautiful and successful. This was not a film for all audiences, but for audiences who have interest in social causes," she stated, emphasizing her long-standing inclination towards meaningful storytelling.
She elaborated on the film's thematic direction, noting that it was positioned away from mainstream commercial cinema to spotlight the struggles and resilience of rural communities. "I am very much intrigued and resonate with these kinds of stories and characters, which is what pushed me to make this film," Geetha Priya shared, highlighting her personal connection to the narrative.
Challenges and Future Aspirations
Despite entering the film industry without prior experience, Geetha Priya acknowledged the challenges she faced. "As a woman in cinema, it came with challenges—it was quite daunting as I had no experience in film. But once I started experiencing it, it became more familiar," she admitted, reflecting on her growth throughout the process.
Looking ahead, she is clear about her future path in filmmaking. "There will be no part two of this film, but I am looking into making more films with subjects like acid attack victims, struggles of working women, and underprivileged children working as labourers," she added, reaffirming her dedication to socially relevant stories.
Inspiration for Women and Society
Actor Meghana Raj, who attended the success meet, lauded Geetha Priya's journey and intent. "What I really loved about Aparachithe is Geetha Priya herself. It is wonderful to see that someone from an education background and no connection with the world of cinema is starting off with such good work at her age," she remarked.
Meghana further noted the film's inspirational potential, stating, "This gives a lot of inspiration to women who don't know what they want to do post-retirement. She is doing something for herself and doing something to society through this, which is great." This praise highlights how Aparachithe serves as a beacon for empowerment and social contribution.
The celebration of Aparachithe's success not only marks a milestone for the film but also reinforces the importance of cinema that addresses critical social issues, paving the way for more impactful storytelling in the future.
