Bengali Film Fraternity Demands Justice, Files FIR Over Actor's Tragic Death
In a significant development, members of the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum took formal legal action on Saturday afternoon by filing a First Information Report (FIR) at the Regent Park police station. The complaint targets the production house responsible for the television show Bhole Baba Par Karega, following the untimely death of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee.
Growing Dissatisfaction with Production House Responses
The forum had previously expressed deep concerns about the circumstances surrounding Banerjee's death. On Friday evening, they issued an official statement declaring their dissatisfaction with the explanations provided by the production company regarding the accident. This dissatisfaction culminated in the decisive step of filing the FIR, which formally demands a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
Family and Industry Stand United for Justice
The filing of the FIR was a collective effort, with Rahul Banerjee's wife, Priyanka Sarkar, present alongside forum members to submit the General Diary (GD) entry at the police station. Their unified demand is clear: a comprehensive inquiry that leaves no stone unturned in determining the facts behind the tragedy.
Prominent Industry Figures Show Solidarity
The police station witnessed a strong show of solidarity from the Bengali film and television fraternity. Numerous esteemed artists were present to support the cause, including:
