Chris Pratt's Humor Serves as Family's Shield During Tough Times
Hollywood star Chris Pratt's renowned sense of humor is more than just a personality trait—it's a vital tool his family relies on to weather life's storms. According to a recent report by 'Female First UK', the 46-year-old actor's wife, author Katherine Schwarzenegger, 36, considers herself fortunate to be married to a man overflowing with hope and happiness.
Gratitude for a Lighthearted Partner
In an exclusive conversation with 'People' magazine, Katherine opened up about the significance of Chris's comedic spirit. "For a variety of reasons, I'm grateful that I married Chris. But one of them is being able to have someone who brings humor in challenging times," she shared. "Even when not funny, someone who can also make you laugh in a really hard time is really important. He definitely does that, so I'm really grateful for that."
The couple, who share daughters Lyla, five, and Eloise, three, along with a two-year-old son named Ford, has built a blended family. Katherine is also stepmother to Chris's 13-year-old son Jack, from his previous marriage to actress Anna Faris.
Humor in the Face of Adversity
Katherine highlighted a specific instance where Chris's humor proved invaluable. When their entire household was hit by the flu, he kept everyone entertained and uplifted. "I would say that he's definitely always really humor-filled. Even when he's sick, he's making jokes that make a rough situation or a rough week have some lighthearted moments," she recounted.
The couple's relationship began in 2018, shortly after Chris finalized his divorce from Anna Faris following nine years of marriage. Katherine, the daughter of acting legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, 78, and journalist Maria Shriver, 70, tied the knot with Chris in 2019 during an intimate ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California.
Foundations of a Lasting Bond
Now seven years into their relationship, Katherine revealed the core element that sustains their marriage. Meeting at a Hollywood church, she emphasized their partnership. "It's just knowing that we're teammates in so much of life, and especially in parenting, which has its ups and downs," she explained.
Chris has reciprocated this sentiment publicly. In February, he disclosed that he treats every day like Valentine's Day to accommodate Katherine's preference. "Katherine is somebody who does not love to go out on Valentine's Day. She thinks it's like a little bit too busy out there, but that just means that every day that's not Valentine's Day, I have to treat it like Valentine's Day," he told Extra.
A Rapid and Fulfilling Journey
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show last year, Chris reflected on the swift progression of their relationship. "God has a fast-forward button. When it's right, boom. You fall in love, you get married. Now we have two beautiful daughters to add to my family," he said. He described Katherine as the "woman of my dreams," linking their union to a personal spiritual journey. "My own journey, finding a higher power and leaning on that and being like, 'Please save me', and then feeling saved. And then shortly later, finding the woman of my dreams," he added.
This insight into their private life underscores how humor and teamwork form the bedrock of their family dynamic, helping them navigate both everyday challenges and significant life events with grace and laughter.
