In a significant breakthrough, Mumbai Police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has exposed a massive international drug syndicate with direct connections to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The investigation has taken a dramatic turn with several high-profile Bollywood personalities emerging as potential participants in drug parties organized by the network.
Key Arrests and Revelations
The drug ring was allegedly masterminded by wanted drug lord Salim Dola, a known associate of Dawood Ibrahim operating from Dubai. According to police documents, Dola controlled an extensive network that supplied mephedrone (commonly known as M-Cat or Meow Meow) across multiple Indian states and even smuggled the substance overseas.
The case saw major progress in August 2024 when Dola's son, Taher Dola, was extradited from the United Arab Emirates. Taher has since become a crucial informant, providing investigators with detailed information about the syndicate's operations and participants.
Bollywood Connections Surface
Confidential documents accessed by investigators reveal startling connections to the entertainment industry. Taher Dola has claimed that Bollywood actors, models, rappers, filmmakers, and even Dawood Ibrahim's relatives regularly attended drug parties organized by the syndicate both in India and abroad.
The remand copy specifically names rapper Loka, actress Shraddha Kapoor, socialite Orry (Orhan), director duo Abbas-Mustan, and Zeeshan Siddiqui as attendees of these parties. Zeeshan Siddiqui's father, Baba Siddique, was shot dead in October 2024, adding another layer to the complex investigation.
Interestingly, Shraddha Kapoor had previously portrayed Dawood Ibrahim's younger sister, Haseena Parkar, in the 2017 film 'Haseena Parkar,' while her brother Siddharth Kapoor played the underworld don himself in the same movie.
The 'Lavish' Parties and International Links
Another key suspect, Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, known in drug circles as "Lavish" due to his extravagant lifestyle, was deported from Dubai in October and is currently in ANC custody. During interrogation, Shaikh admitted to organizing drug parties in India and foreign countries.
Shaikh was first arrested following his deportation for his alleged involvement in a ₹252 crore mephedrone seizure in Maharashtra's Sangli district in March 2024. Police investigations confirm he worked for an international drug syndicate.
The ANC is now actively working to identify all individuals who attended these parties and is examining whether other drug traffickers arranged similar events for celebrities. Officials have indicated they may question all celebrities named in the probe as the investigation continues to unfold.
