Emraan Hashmi, who leads the cast, has wrapped up filming alongside his co-star Disha Patani. The screenplay has been penned by Bilal Siddiqui, while the film is directed by Nitin Kakkar.

'Awarapan 2' Filmed Across Rajasthan and South East Asia

According to a press release, the shooting of the film took place across diverse and visually striking locations, spanning the deserts and palaces of Rajasthan as well as exotic locales in South East Asia. In the sequel, Emraan steps back into the shoes of his iconic character Shivam, a role he originally brought to life in the 2007 film directed by Mohit Suri.

Produced by Vishesh Bhatt, 'Awarapan 2' is set to hit theaters on August 14. The project was first announced as a birthday surprise for Emraan on his 46th birthday last year. For those unfamiliar with the original, the 2007 film revolved around Emraan's character, a hitman tasked by his boss to keep tabs on his mistress. The story takes a dramatic turn when he uncovers the dark truth that she has been a victim of sex trafficking, prompting him to risk everything to help reunite her with the man she loves.
