Hamid Barkzi Reflects on Eid Traditions and Childhood Memories

"We visited each other's homes, enjoyed sheer kurma, and even had competitions to see who could finish their bowl first," he reminisces. "Those were the best times, and we still try to relive those childhood moments on Eid as much as possible."
This year, Barkzi is prioritizing family by traveling to Delhi to celebrate Eid with his loved ones. "Since I work in Mumbai, I make it a point to spend festivals at home. Being with family is my biggest eidi," he explains. His day will begin with namaaz at the Masjid, followed by savoring his mother's homemade sheer kurma, symbolizing the continuity of cherished traditions.
