Celebrating a significant milestone, the acclaimed Telugu cop mystery franchise 'HIT' has seen its second installment, 'HIT 2', complete three successful years since its release. The film's director, Sailesh Kolanu, marked the occasion by sharing a deeply emotional and personal note, revealing the profound challenges he faced during production and expressing heartfelt gratitude to his team.
An Emotional Tribute from the Director
Taking to his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Sailesh Kolanu penned a moving message. "Can't believe it's been 3 years! #HIT2 taught me so much," he began, setting the tone for a revelation about the film's difficult yet inspiring journey from script to screen.
Filming Through Grief and New Life
The filmmaker disclosed that he stepped onto the sets of 'HIT 2' while navigating a profound personal crisis. Merely ten days before the commencement of the shoot, Kolanu suffered the irreparable loss of his brother. Simultaneously, his wife, Swathi, was in her ninth month of pregnancy with their son, Abhay.
Determined to shield his wife from his grieving energy, Kolanu found his solace and strength on the film set. "The only thing that kept me going was being on my set, with my team. Can't thank them enough for giving me the energy to keep going," he wrote. In a poignant turn of events, a month into the shoot, his son was born. "It felt like my brother came back to me," he added, highlighting the emotional duality of that period.
A Team That Stood as Family
Kolanu fondly recalled how his crew became his pillar of strength, celebrating his son's birth with genuine joy. "I vividly remember every team member on the HIT2 set genuinely feeling happy for me. Indebted to each and every member," he stated. His gratitude extended specifically to the film's lead, Adivi Sesh, whose unwavering support left an indelible mark on the director.
He also thanked actress Meenakshi Chaudhary for perfectly embodying the character of 'Arya' and producer-presenter Nani for believing in his vision and backing the project without any hesitation. This collective faith was crucial for the film's execution during such a turbulent time.
The 'HIT' franchise continues to expand. The third installment, led by Nani and featuring a special appearance by Adivi Sesh, was released earlier this year. Furthermore, the makers are actively developing the fourth film, which is set to be headlined by popular Tamil actor Karthi.
