The Karnataka Lokayukta conducted raids on officials of the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) and Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) in Bengaluru, uncovering assets worth approximately Rs 11 crore. The operation targeted several locations across the city, leading to the seizure of both immovable and movable properties.
Details of Seized Assets
Officials discovered immovable assets including three sites, two houses, and three acres of agricultural land valued at Rs 3.89 crore. Additionally, movable assets comprising cash, gold and silver ornaments, vehicles, and bank savings worth Rs 1.07 crore were found. The total value of the unearthed assets is estimated to exceed Rs 11 crore.
Raids and Investigations
The Lokayukta team carried out simultaneous searches at the residences and offices of the accused officials. The raids were part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and disproportionate assets. Further inquiries are underway to trace the source of these assets and identify any additional individuals involved.
