In a heartwarming revelation from the sets of the upcoming Bollywood film De De Pyaar De 2, lead actor Ajay Devgn has shared an amusing yet genuine concern of veteran actor-dancer Jaaved Jaaferi. The seasoned performer, renowned for his electrifying dance moves, was apparently feeling the pressure of sharing the dance floor with his own son, the young and energetic Meezaan Jafri.
A Father's Nervousness on the Dance Floor
During a promotional interaction on BookMyShow's YouTube channel, the film's cast opened up about the experience of shooting the vibrant song '3 Shaukk'. While Meezaan expressed his joy at the unique opportunity to dance alongside his father, Ajay Devgn shed light on Jaaved's underlying anxiety. "His father was more conscious," Ajay revealed. "He kept asking if Meezaan is doing better than him, and when we said 'yes', then he was happy also, but he was also getting stressed. He kept saying 'this is not my style of dancing.'"
Co-star Rakul Preet Singh also recalled Jaaved's self-conscious remarks, where he reportedly said, "I'm not into practice, I don't dance that often," highlighting the veteran's playful nervousness about keeping up with the new generation's energy.
A Viral Moment and a New Legacy
The song provided a special cinematic moment where Meezaan Jafri shared screen space with his father and the iconic Boogie Woogie trio—Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jafri, and Ravi Behl. A behind-the-scenes video of Jaaved and Meezaan practicing together quickly went viral, charming audiences and introducing the legendary dance trio to a new Gen-Z fanbase.
Meezaan, reflecting on the experience, said, "I was really happy with the opportunity given that I was able to share screen space with my dad and not just that, but also dance with him. That's what he has been known for." The visuals from the shoot show a spirited Meezaan alongside his father, who, while appearing a bit tired, executed every step with his signature finesse, proving that class is permanent.
Jaaved Jaaferi's Enduring Dance Legacy
This episode stands in contrast to Jaaved Jaaferi's established reputation as one of Hindi cinema's most exceptional dancers. The host and judge of India's pioneering dance reality show, Boogie Woogie, he recently stunned fans again by showcasing his impeccable breakdancing skills on Realme Hip Hop India Season 2 at the age of 61, earning a massive applause even when performing against choreographer Remo D'Souza.
De De Pyaar De 2, which continues the story from the first film, is set to hit theatres on November 14. The movie stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles, with R. Madhavan, Meezaan Jafri, and Jaaved Jaaferi playing pivotal parts.
