Kartik Aaryan and T-Series Forge New Partnership for 'Captain India'

The highly successful collaboration between actor Kartik Aaryan and producer Bhushan Kumar's T-Series production house is set to continue with their latest venture, the upcoming film 'Captain India'. This marks the sixth project together for the duo, who have previously delivered multiple box office hits that have resonated strongly with audiences across India.

A Proven Track Record of Cinematic Success

The partnership between Kartik Aaryan and T-Series has already yielded five commercially successful films, establishing a formidable reputation in the industry. Their joint filmography includes the popular romantic comedy 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' from 2018, the entertaining 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' released in 2019, and the horror-comedy blockbuster 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' in 2022. Most recently, they collaborated on 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' in 2024, which continued their streak of strong theatrical performances.

'Captain India' Gains Major Production Backing

According to industry reports from Bollywood Hungama, 'Captain India' is written and produced by Harman Baweja. T-Series has now officially joined the project as a producer, having recognized significant potential in the compelling storyline, the casting of Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, and the association of acclaimed director Shimit Amin. The production team has completed the initial location scouting process, with filming scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2026. The movie is planned to be shot across diverse locations in India and Morocco, promising an expansive cinematic experience.

Shimit Amin's Much-Anticipated Directorial Comeback

'Captain India' marks the directorial return of Shimit Amin after a substantial hiatus of 17 years from feature filmmaking. Throughout his career, Amin has helmed three critically acclaimed films that have earned widespread admiration. He made a powerful debut with the gritty crime drama 'Ab Tak Chhappan' in 2004, followed by the immensely popular sports drama 'Chak De India' in 2007, starring Shah Rukh Khan. His third film, 'Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year' from 2009 featuring Ranbir Kapoor, achieved cult status despite not being a major commercial success initially.

Project History and Future Collaborations

Interestingly, the 'Captain India' project was first announced back in 2021, with director Hansal Mehta originally attached to helm the film at that time. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan and T-Series are also working on another exciting collaboration—a musical film directed by Anurag Basu, which is expected to release in the latter half of 2026. Currently, Kartik Aaryan is actively shooting for 'Naagzilla' with director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, known for the 'Fukrey' series. Additionally, the actor has another promising project lined up with renowned filmmaker Kabir Khan, further solidifying his busy and diverse upcoming slate.
