Khushi Mukherjee Speaks Out on Defamation Claims
Actress and social media personality Khushi Mukherjee has finally broken her silence. This comes after influencer Faizan Ansari claimed to have filed a massive Rs 100 crore defamation lawsuit against her. The case centers on her recent remarks about Indian cricket star Suryakumar Yadav.
Speaking directly to the media, Khushi Mukherjee firmly denied defaming the Indian T20I captain. She admitted her earlier comment might have been unnecessary. However, she stressed it contained nothing defamatory.
"Words Slipped Out, But No Defamation"
"Mere moonh se baat nikal gayi ki haan, baat hoti thi, shayad nahi nikalna chahiye tha. Par usmein defamation wali koi baat nahi thi," Khushi told Instant Bollywood. She clarified that while she acknowledged past conversations with Suryakumar Yadav, she never intended to harm his reputation.
She explained the context simply. Yes, they spoke. That is true. But defamation? No, that was never the goal.
No Legal Notice Received
Reacting to widespread reports of legal action, Khushi stated a clear fact. She has not received any defamation notice so far. According to her, social media chatter and television debates have exaggerated the entire issue.
"Aisa koi legal notice ya yeh sab kuch mere paas aaya nahi hai," she added. She pointed out that news channels often lack topics. So, they turn a small matter into a mountain.
She reiterated her position strongly. "I mean, baat hoti thi, theek hai, sach hai. Defamation? No, I haven’t received any defamation, and I don’t think in any way I have defamed him."
Criticism of "Attention-Seeking Influencers"
Khushi did not hold back in criticizing those amplifying the controversy. She called them opportunistic influencers trying to cash in on the moment. Without naming Faizan Ansari directly, she used vivid language.
She remarked that some people simply came to "warm their hands at the bonfire" for visibility. "Aur rahi baat baaki, kuch aise saste se jo influencers hain, woh bonfire mein haath sekne ke liye aa gaye aur bhaukne lag gaye. So let them bark, that’s all I can say," she stated bluntly.
What Sparked the Controversy
The entire row began after an interview. In it, Khushi Mukherjee claimed Suryakumar Yadav "used to message her a lot." She immediately clarified there was never a romantic relationship between them.
Her remark quickly went viral online. It led to significant backlash from fans and commentators. Subsequently, Faizan Ansari announced his intention to file the defamation suit.
For now, Khushi Mukherjee remains firm in her stance. She admits the comment may have slipped out. But she insists it does not amount to defamation. She believes this holds true both legally and in the court of public opinion.
The actress appears determined to move past the drama. She has drawn a line between an unfortunate choice of words and a malicious act.
